Our annual Back To School Retreat marks the end of summer and the beginning of a new school year and new opportunities. We had a wet but super weekend with time to go deeper in our study of “Godstory” with Dustin Lee and worship with Bradley Roper. Top that off with a little time on the beach when the clouds cleared and some fun activities with Danielle Lee and you have a great weekend. In all we had 55 students participate in the weekend with 11 guests.
Coming off a great weekend with some of the best students and parents around that are a blessing to work with, I find myself with another opportunity that truly blesses a pastor’s heart. I will be traveling to Franklin, NC to participate in the launching of Biltmore Baptist Church’s Franklin Campus with their new pastor, our own Patrick Trawick. It has been exciting watching how God has used this young man in such a great way. Mt. Gilead has been extremely blessed with so many young people who have remained faithful in their walk and have found God’s calling in ministry. Over the next few months I will be sharing with our church others who have done the same and are walking with God.
