We love students and believe they are an integral part in the whole ministry of the church. Here is a bit of the core about our ministry and how we filter all of the various activities we do.
Our Mission: We are equipping young Christians to live, love, and learn the Gospel
Our Vision: We are striving to cultivate mature young Christians who boldly seek to make disciples in their circles of influence.
Our values:
We believe that the mission, vision, and values of our ministry will help these students grow into Christians who are Captivated by God’s Glory, Connected to God’s Family, and Committed to God’s Mission.
At Mount Gilead, your child’s safety is of utmost importance. Every one who works and volunteers with children (birth-grade 12) has undergone and passed a criminal background check. Additionally, we seek to provide a safe and well-monitored environment for our students.
Connect Groups: Sundays @ 9 AM students gather in grade specific classes and discuss different topics of Theology, Practice, and Discipline all geared toward the building up of the student. These classes are led by parents and others who simply love teaching students.
The Gathering: Wednesdays @ 6:15 PM students gather together for a time or worship, teaching, and small group discussion (led by parents and young adults) following the message. This provides students with a safe opportunity to share struggles as well as wrestle with how to apply the Word to their specific situations.
Sunday Night Fellowships: After the MGBC Church conferences, students gather twice a month to simply hangout and fellowship together. Building relationships is crucial in discipleship and evangelism and this offers an easy way to do that. This is also a time for students to invite their unchurched or unsaved friends and get them some exposure to the Word and the Love of Christ. These fellowship gatherings are hosted and organized by parents and can take place in homes, at church, or simply just going to a restaurant.
Serve Saturdays: On the 3rd Saturday of each month, groups of students led by parents get into the immediate community to serve, minister, and share the Gospel. These Serve Days give students hands on experience in how to share the gospel, meet needs, and minister to the community around them.
Events and Mission Trips: Throughout the year we participate in various mission trips and retreats all designed to mature the students’ faith and as well as provide opportunities to grow their faith through service and evangelism. Check out the Student Calendar to see what we have on the books!
